GENDER, IN REGARDS TO LEADERSHIP
WE BELIEVE ALL BELIEVERS ARE UNIQUELY GIFTED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MINISTRY OF GOD FOR THE PURPOSE OF BUILDING UP THE CHURCH AND ENGAGING OUR WORLD WITH THE GOSPEL.
In regards to intellect, wisdom and gifting, each person is uniquely gifted according to the grace of God. Not one gender is superior to the other in areas of intellect, wisdom, worth or gifting. In regards to responsibility, we believe that the overarching pattern of scripture lays upon men a greater degree of scrutiny and accountability before God in the areas of shepherding, care and instruction. This does not lessen the call of faithfulness upon women, nor does it give men license to exercise oppressive rule over women. Rather, it lays upon all the call of faithful obedience, in response to the lordship of Christ in the humility that results from a right view of God.
