Our Story

How it all started...

Bonfires.  Its not super spiritual, buts it's true.  In many ways the neighborhood bonfire became the place where stories were shared, laughter was heard and the hope of the gospel was announced.

Sojourn began in 2012, as a bible study in the Arbors Neighborhood.  Within a year, we were gathering around bonfires in Brookshire, Hearthstone and Little River.  Our desire was to see the good news of Christ gather a people who enjoyed life together, experiencing grace in everyday ways.

Life with God, Together. . .

In 2013, Sojourn began gathering on Sundays nights as a way of orienting ourselves around the hope of Christ.  As a worshiping community, we rehearsed the gospel, celebrated Jesus, declared hope to each other and returned to everyday things with the call to share the gospel of Jesus with our lives.
The gathering was a way of grounding ourselves in the gospel,  in the midst of a hurried and anxious world.

What's Next . . .

A lot has changed at Sojourn.  But we are still a community that is desperate for Jesus to be real and the gospel to be powerful.  We live with the hope of change, inviting all people to experience the joys of life with God, together.

We long to see the gospel transform people & places, beginning with ourselves, our homes, our city and the world.

Sojourn isn't for everyone.  But the gospel of Jesus is for all.  If we can help point you to the one of who Saves and journey with you towards the hope of change, we would love to.
